University of Fredericton (UFred) - reviews

There isn't a better EMBA for $30k in Canada, maybe the world. I finished my EMBA in 2021 and immediately qualified for higher level positions within my company. I also learned so much, and met such incredible professionals, that I've never been more confident at my job. I went into the program earning $100k+ as a senior manager. UFred was initially my way of jumping through the hoops required to get into the C-suite, but it turned out to be this rich, rewarding, challenging and in some ways surprising educational experience of a lifetime. If you're anything like me, I would highly recommend it.

I can't imagine a better, more flexible, learning experience. UFred has nailed this aspect of the MBA for people who are working in senior roles, have families and real responsibilities, and can't take 1-2 years off from "real life".I started by being placed into a group. Classes are 15 hours per class per week and then we have discussions using WebEx, group presentations and weekly readings. Classes can be taken as one-offs so you can really do things at your own pace. I'm still in touch with the people from my group to this day and we are from backgrounds as wide-ranging as fintech, manufacturing, law, agribusiness and retail! Also, profs were amazing and led classes virtually from around the world.It's a lot of work; not a "bird" program by any stretch of the imagination. This program really pushed me to take my business and management skills to the next level. I can't recommend it enough for the right people.

I'm a current student doing my EMBA at UFred. Here are just a few reasons why I chose the University of Fredericton:- The price is a reasonable $30k and there are very few options at this price point from accredited universities like UFred.- They are masters of online education delivery, doing this long before the pandemic pushed schools to teach online. The experience is based around cohorts and really is smartly designed so students don't lose out on the social/networking aspects of the EMBA.- I wasn't looking to change careers. I chose a program based on the quality of education and not necessarily its ability to help me start a new job. Everyone in my program is really happy as an executive or senior person within their organizations. So, this can be a pro or con depending on who you are.- Professors: The profs are from around the world and have an amazing diversity of backgrounds. I'm being exposed everyday to ways of thinking I would have truly never considered without the benefit of this program.Good luck choosing where to go!

I recently finished the EMBA 7005 Leadership Theory and Practice course. It was a great course to start the program with. Well rounded with theory and practical experience. Important to know APA format and manage your time carefully. Enjoyed learning from my Professor and working with other students in the course.

Currently, I am enrolled in my first class of Leadership Theory and Practice and it has been very pleasant experience. My professor (Don McCain) is highly knowledgeable and shares real world examples. The program is not that easy and certainly comes with it's own challenges. Program requires high level of motivation and discipline. I would definitely recommend UFRED to my friends and family.
