This was a career changing experience for me. I learned the technical skills, modelling, tools and more that are used everyday in industry so I hit the ground running when I graduated. I used what I learned to leap frog two positions at the bank I work for into a senior financial analyst role where I can run much more complex analyses. My most important advice is, take your courses, assignments and lecturers seriously. Take advantage of the amazing networking opportunities, with instructors, employers and guest lecturers. I can't say enough about the diverse professional community BrainStation has built. They are locked into top employer networks, understand the most important skills, and will help you achieve your goals in a short time period.
This course was exactly what I needed to go from "the guy who manages the website" to "our company's PM." Instructors were amazing and the so was the curriculum. I was able to do work projects while studying and get help that translated into wins at my office. I left the course more sure than ever than I want a career in product management.
This was just a brilliant course for a manager like me who needed to understand cyber security and how to manage all the people -- more people than I thought -- who can affect an organization's security. I wouldn't recommend this course for anyone who wants to jump into a cyber career because that isn't how it's designed, unlike many of BrainStation's other courses. First-rate instructors and chalk full of perfect real life examples. I can't recommend BrainStation enough.
BrainStation is the future of education and an excellent alternative to traditional college programs. I didn't need to wait until a whole new semester to start learning, they had diplomas starting all the time, online with live instruction with loads of valuable online resources.The instructors are second-to-none. I had access to amazing teachers from top tech firms and was simply blown away by their intelligence and passion for helping students. The curriculum is very good and the projects let you apply everything you learn as you go. There's some theory, but the perfect balance.The last thing is how awesomely flexible everything is. You have a community of people you are joining at BrainStation when you enrol, but somehow the school has created so many opportunities for learning that it can really fit into your life.
I have taken the cybersecurity course that brainstation has to offer because it was recommended by a friend, The sales consultants said you should find a job after taking this course, no problem (as they always do). Now after a year of applying, I could not find a job in the cybersecurity sector. The course cost me around $3297 because I chose the 12 month payment plan. This was a 5 week course, each week has one 8 hour class and cover 1 modules per day, total 5 modules in the remainder of the course. The instructor was very enthusiastic when teaching, and explained certain topics very well, but the over all course does not teach you any technical aspects of the topics they are covering. The only information they provide is the overall descriptions of the security systems. The course does not teach how to use specific security systems. (HOW DO YOU GET SOMEONE "JOB READY" IF YOU DON'T TEACH THEM TO USE THE SYSTEMS THEY ARE GOING TO WORK WITH IN THE FIRST PLACE?) Their claim to get you job ready is a lie. do not fall for their job ready BS at least when it comes to cybersecurity. $3297 for 5 classes is $659.4 per class, which you are paying someone just to listen to them gives you a summary of what cybersecurity is. Brainstation claims they get you job ready, instead when i have emailed a brainstation support for help with job search, they did not even reply back to me. I have learned more about cybersecurity from Google IT Professional certificate course than this pile of dumpster fire, and that course cost only $50 a month on coursera. If you want to get into cyber security and have no experience, go watch some youtube videos on it and get the Google IT Professional certificate, A+ certificate, Security+ certificate, way better investment than this trash. I have not had one employer who though the brainstation cybersecurity certificate was an asset.
